Jack Wayne Benson

November 27, 1936 — January 25, 2004

Jack Wayne Benson, 67, of Owensboro, died Sunday, January 25, 2004 at the Hillcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The Butler County native retired from Modern Welding after over 40 years of service and the Plant Superintendent when he retired. A member of the New Midway Baptist Church in Butler County, Mr. Benson was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Benson in 1999; a granddaughter, Jennifer Johnson in 1984 and a brother, Billy Benson in 1997.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Maxine Puckett Benson; two daughters, Allison Copley of Elizabethtown and Danielle Woodward of Owensboro; a son, Marc Wayne Benson of Owensboro; his mother; Margie Harper Benson of Owensboro; eight grandchildren, Jason Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Jordan Benson, Kevin Benson, Marci Benson, Roger Daugherty, Tyler Dixon, and Ray Copley; two great-grandchildren; brother, Donnie Benson of Owensboro; and a sister, Dana Jarboe of North Carolina.

Funeral services are 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday and after 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday.
