J. Larry Towery

J. Larry Towery, 82, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at his home. He was born May 31, 1942 in Daviess County to the late Joseph G. and Mary Louis Stallings Towery. Larry was retired from Texas Gas after more than 26 years and was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Larry was raised on a farm in the St. Joseph community and worked at Mount Saint Joseph and had worked at Mercy Hospital. He enjoyed restoring Mustangs, yard work, and watching various sports. He also had a great sense of humor and was one who never met a stranger. Also preceding Larry in death was a son, Stephen Wayne Towery and two sisters, Angela Neely and Betty Smith.

 Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Rose Towery; son Joseph Owen Towery (Christal) and daughters, Rebecca Lynn Wandell (Lorne) and Sarah Elizabeth Vance (Jeff); his beloved grandchildren, Cassidy Faith and Stephen Owen Towery, children of Joseph and Christal, Lars and Sevara, children of Rebecca and Lorne, and Joseph Lucas Head, Jacob Stephen and Elizabeth Grace Mayfield and Ella Marie Vance, children of Sarah and Jeff; a brother, James Donald Towery (Susan) of St. Joseph; and a sister, Rachel Whitaker (Hugh) of Owensboro.

 Private services were held and entombment was in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
