J. Carroll Stallings

J. Carroll Stallings, 78, of Owensboro went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. He was born Nov. 5, 1935, in Daviess County to the late Cleveland and Mary Frances Hamilton Stallings. Carroll was of the Catholic faith and retired from the City of Frenchburg where he was a driver with the sanitation department. He was very fond of UK basketball and NASCAR. Mr. Stallings also was a boilermaker, farmer, member of the Lions Club and a retired Marine.

He also was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley F. Raddish; sons Michael Wayne Stallings and Phillip Barron Stallings; daughter Kathy Lynn Stallings; grandson Joshua Lee Millay; sister Joyce Wimsatt; brothers Martin Stallings and Kenny Stallings; and infant brother Cary Michael Stallings.

Survivors include his daughter, Jamie (Robert) Millay of Philpot; a grandson, Wayne (Arielle) Millay of Philpot; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Edana (Matt) McDaniel of Hawesville; and brothers Edward "Tator" (Agnes) Stallings of Owensboro, Danny (Rita) Stallings of Utica, Allan (Nina) Stallings of Owensboro and Steve (Sheila) Stallings of Beaver Dam.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Lions Club and The Heartford House.
