J. A. Ellis

J. A. Ellis, Jr., 74, of 3842 Bordeaux Loop South, Owensboro, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born June 26, 1933 to the late John Andrew and Lucy Rust Ellis in Muhlenberg County. He was a Sales Representative for Children's Apparel, and had showrooms in Dallas, TX, Charlotte, NC, and Atlanta, GA for over eleven years, he also was Manager of the M & R Shoppe in Central City for over 10 years. He attended First Christian Church in Central City, a Kentucky Colonel and had been a 32 degree Mason, a Shriner, and he and Nancy enjoyed going to Disney World on many different occasions.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Ellis and a sister, Vonnell Schuh.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Nancy Bastin Ellis; a foster son, Luis Aguas and his wife, Marilyn of Savannah, GA; a sister, Dorothy Jenkins of Bowling Green; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, John and Ilene Howerton, Jr., of Owensboro, brother-in-law, George Shuh of Louisville; two foster grandchildren, Luis Andrea and Marianna Aguas; nieces and nephews, Sharon (Bill) Holden, Missy (Steve) Osborne, George (Julie) Schuh, Doug (Sabrina) Howerton, Barry (Jill) Howerton, Susan Howerton Jackson, John Howerton, III, Ann Louis (Lee) Sparks, David (Lisa) Stringer, Larry Stringer, Carolyn (Curt) Nelson and Carol Lee (Bill) Keown; 21 great nieces and nephews; several great-great nieces and nephews.
