Irvin "Jack" Kingkade, 79, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born February 9, 1929 to the late William Jackson and Nora Belle McCarthy Kingkade in Central City. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, and retired from W. R. Grace after 30 years of service. He served two years in the U. S. Army in Germany, during the Korean War, and he enjoyed boating, fishing, woodworking and mowing his grass.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary K. Reed and Eula Gillim, and three brothers, Basil and Robert Kincaid and Kenneth Kingkade.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Henrietta Halstead Kingkade, a son, Jeff, and his wife, Sherry Greer Kingkade of Owensboro; a grandson, Jeffery Allen Kingkade, and a granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Kingkade; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Friday and after 8:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, Kitchen Renovation Project or the Macedonia Baptist Church Youth Group, 4839 Millers Mill Road, Owensboro, KY 42303.
