Irene V. Miller

Irene V. (Badger) Miller, 90, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY. She was born in Perry County, Indiana to the late Preston and Mamie (Wilson) Badger.

Irene served as a "Rosie the Riveter" in Evansville during WW II.

She owned and operated a beauty shop, "House of Badger's", for more than 30 years.

Irene was a longtime member of First Christian Church and the Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Miller in 2000; sisters, Pearl Spencer, Ida Gaither and Alma York; and brothers, Floyd and Herman Badger.

Irene is survived by a daughter, Sandy Ebelhar (Alan); a son, John Miller (Jane), both of Owensboro; grandchildren, Holly Ebelhar of Owensboro; Bradley Ebelhar (fianc, Robin McLimore), Jason and Jeff Miller of Louisville; great grandchildren, Haley and Hannah Ebelhar of Owensboro and Inara Miller of Louisville; sisters, Ola Cassidy of Hatfield, IN and Zelda Hundley of Owensboro; a brother, L.A. Badger of Hatfield, IN; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 3 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Rebekah Krevens will officiate. Visitation will be after 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the family of Mrs. Irene Miller.
