Irene Agnes Wright Gray

Irene Wright Gray, 86, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, April 7, 2005 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born February 5, 1919 in Jasper County, IL, Mrs. Gray retired from the Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital where she was a Nurses Aide. She was of the Catholic faith and loved reading, gardening, traveling, sewing and caring for her pets. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Gray in 2004; a daughter, Thelma Greer in 2001; two brothers, Gilbert Wright and John Wright; and four sisters, Florence Murray, GenieWeaver, Betty Johnson and Margie Wright.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Elizabeth Gray of Owensboro; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marian and Justus Smith of Morrow, GA, Betty and Robert Williamson of Okemah, OK, and Janet and Steven Dukes of Owensboro; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Wright of Owensboro; two sisters, Alma Montgomery and Birdie Wedding both of Owensboro.

Funeral services are 10 A.M. Monday, April 11, 2005, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-6 P.M. on Sunday and after 8:30 A.M. on Monday. Prayers will be at 5 P.M. on Sunday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Humane Society or the Alzheimers Association.
