Irene Brown Barnes

Irene Brown Barnes, 50, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born May 12, 1965 in Daviess Co. to the late Robert and Irene Hines Brown. Irene had worked in several daycares caring for children. She helped mold the lives of many people raising and caring for many children. She just loved helping people especially those in need. Irene was the "glue" in her family. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Lloyd Ray Barnes on August 8, 2012, two sisters, Shirley Brown and Barbara Swanagan, and a brother, Robert Jackson.

Surviving are her children, Kujali Brown and wife Stephanie, Tirhonda Brown, Jasmine Brown, Adam Brown, Lacisha Brown, Namita Dawn Brown, Dawnisha Brown, Dionte Brown, Damita Brown, DeAisha Brown, DaLaza Brown, Nevaeh Brown, and JaRaya Brown, all of Owensboro, 11 grandchildren, four sisters, Leola McHenry of Owensboro, Laura Brown Johnson of New Albany, IN, Rachel Jackson and Dorothy Jackson, both of Louisville, three brothers, James Jackson of Atlanta, GA, David Brown of Louisville, and Robert Brown of Owensboro, and her best friend, Jan Seaton of Owensboro.

Services will be 5:00 P.M. Saturday, January 23, at Glenn Funeral and Crematory. Visitation will be from 12:00-5:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
