Ira I. Pop Maxey, 91, of Harborside Healthcare Center, Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2005 at Harborside. He was born in Warren Co., Ky. to the late William Henry & Laura Watson Maxey. He was retired from Suburban Gas, formerly ParGas, in 1985, as the Business Manager He was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, and loved golfing with his friends, and woodworking. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Sam Payne in 2002, two sisters, Alma Crafton and Frances Browning, and his life long companion, Lilyan Whitaker on February 2, 2001.

Surviving is a son, William E. Bill Maxey of Pago Pago, American Samoa, two daughters and their husbands, Connie & John Enright of Pago Pago, and Vicki & Steve Scott of Owensboro, four grandchildren, Susan Daniel of Hartford, Stephen Scott & Ashley Payne, both of Owensboro, and Tali Maxey of Pago Pago, a step son, Leim Enright of Pago Pago, and four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Scott, Jessie Marie Payne, Logan Payne, and Colburn Payne.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 28, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 9:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
