Imogene "Jeannie" Loyd

Imogene "Jeannie" Loyd, 80, of Owensboro passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest. Mrs. Loyd was born July 6, 1936 in Daviess County to the late Edgar Mason Sr. and Nellie Rayman Mason. She graduated from OHS in 1955 and married James Loyd in 1953. Jeannie was a very friendly and outgoing person who spent many years bowling in leagues. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed watching TV especially old movies. As a member of Hall Street Baptist Church she served often in the nursery.

Mrs. Loyd was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Robert "Lonesome" Loyd in 2014; great granddaughter, Paisley Henry in 2014; sister, Peggy Oliver in 2015.

Survivors include her daughters, Cathy Henry and husband Roy of Owensboro, Sandy Spurlock and husband Gary of Santa Claus, Indiana; grandsons, Todd Henry, Eric Henry and wife Tammy, Jimmy Spurlock, Danny Spurlock; granddaughters, Wendy McCarthy and husband Dallas, Molly Spurlock; eight great grandchildren, Kyleigh, Mason, Addison, Paisley (deceased), Kennedi, Rylee, Weston, Erikson and Preslei; brother, Edgar "Butch" Mason Jr.

The service will be noon Saturday, November 26 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Scott Ford officiating. Entombment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 and Saturday from 10:00 AM.
