Imogene "Jean" Burdette passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in Longview, TX. Born on August 12, 1923 in Owensboro, KY she was the daughter of the late John and Loral Corley. She lived in Owensboro most of her life before moving to Longview to be near family. Mrs. Burdette was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Owensboro and attended East Mountain Baptist Church in Gilmer after moving to Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Burdette.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancie and Bill Darby of Gilmer, TX, and Mildred and Tom Hiter of Benton, KY. She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Ty and Kristi Hiter of Argyle, TX, William and Tonya Darby of White Oak, TX, Charles and Dottie Hiter of Fussa, Japan, and Jean Ellen and Jonathan Melton of Lexington, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Utica Cemetery with Dr. Mark Slaughter and Rev. Bob Farmer officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Utica Cemetery Memorial Fund.
