Ima “Jewell” Faught, 86, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at her home. She was born June 3, 1937 in Muhlenburg County to the late Ollie and Eleanor Sumner Harris. Jewell was of the Pentecostal faith and retired from National Linen Service after 40 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and doing things for them if they were in need of help. Jewell enjoyed playing the game 10,000 Dice and going to the Casino boat in Evansville a couple of times a year. She always bought her weekly Powerball tickets too. She enjoyed cooking especially roast beef and cornbread and making potato salad. Jewell always put others first, She loved her beloved cat, Bunkers and her daughter’s two dogs, Bailey and Bentley.
Jewell was also preceded in death by son, Donald Lee Faught, Jr.in 1999 and twin sons, Timothy and Timmie Faught in 1959.
Surviving are three children, Troy Faught, Robby Faught, and Sheryl Evans (Mark), all of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Greg Lanham, Talissa and Bristol Baird, Alecia and Heather Evans, and Madison Merimee; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Lou Gray of Central City.
Funeral services will be Noon Saturday, June 1, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Private burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice and a very special thank you to her Hospice nurse Ronnie Wiseman. Also they would like to give a special thanks to her beautician, Elaine Burton.
