Ida M. Henning Swihart

Ida M. Henning Swihart, 71, of 3848 Benttree Dr., Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at her home. She was born on March 15, 1937 in Daviess Co., Ky. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and had worked at Commonwealth Aluminum Co for over 20 years. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and working in the yard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Kelly Swihart on Sept. 5, 1995, a son, Carl Ray Swihart in Feb. 1968, a daughter, Kimberly Kay Hurter of May 13, 2003, her father, Joseph Henning, and a sister, Margie Keiser.

Surviving are two daughters, Tina Swihart of Lewisport and Julie Swihart of Owensboro, a son, Kenneth Swihart of Livermore, her mother, Ida Gilmore Henning of Owensboro, nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, seven sisters, Betty Williamson of Lewisport, Bessie Martin of Indianapolis, Ind., Mary Ellen Pate, Beverly Jane Vanover, Judy Williams, Paula Robertson, and Linda Payne, all of Owensboro, six brothers, Louis Henning, Norman Wayne Henning, Gary Mark Henning, Charles Henning, Billy Henning, and Stephen Dale Henning, all of Owensboro.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 23, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Blackford Baptist Church Cemetery in Hancock Co. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Ohio Valley, 723 Harvard Dr., Owensboro, Ky. 42301.
