Ida O'Bryan "Dolly" Smith, 83, of Owensboro got her angel wings Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born in Owensboro on February 27, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Anna B. Head O'Bryan and retired from General Electric in 1991. Mrs. Smith was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, was a great cook, and loved UK basketball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Leemon Smith; brothers, Bill O'Bryan and John O'Bryan; a half-sister, Patricia Maugherman; and a half-brother, Tony Hall.
Surviving are a son, Jerry (Jamie) Minton of Owensboro; daughters, Karen (Stephen) Estes, Terri (Donald) Nation, and Tammy Moseley all of Owensboro; step-daughters, Sharon (Mitch) Rowland of Hendersonville, TN and Charlotte Miller of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Ashley Estes, Stephanie Harley, Sean Vance, Tiffany Hunter, Chris Minton, Lindsey Purcell, Brooke Wise, Jana Flood, Gus Rowland, and Ricky Moore; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Friday and after 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
