Hunter Shane Dawson

Hunter "Hunny" Shane Dawson, 6, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born December 8, 2003 in Owensboro, he was the son of Amber Crowley and Joey Dawson and was in the Special Needs Program at Sutton Elementary School. Hunter was born with Hurler's Syndrome and had undergone a bone marrow transplant in 2005. He was a loving little boy who enjoyed movies, riding in the car, and swimming. He had been a spokes child for the Ronald McDonald Charities and was a March of Dimes Baby. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Kenneth David Crowley and Johnny Dawson, Jr. and great-grandparents, Violet and Johnny Dawson, Sr.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, David Dawson; grandparents, Linda Dees of Spring Hill, FL and Jackie Raymer of Owensboro; great-grandparents, Barbara and Donald Wilson of Crystal River, FL; aunts and uncles, Misti Crossley of Owensboro, Dawn (Matthew) Moore of Leesburg, FL, Nikki Dawson and Josh Dawson of Owensboro; and several cousins.

Services are 12 noon Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Carl Vanover officiating followed by burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
