Hunter Emmons Clark

September 15, 1918 — August 5, 2010

Hunter Emmons Clark, 91, of Owensboro, formerly of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 at his home. Born in Pineville, Kentucky, a son of the late Oran Sharp Clark and Lillie Mae McKee Clark, his family moved to Ashland, where he grew up in the family funeral home and was a licensed funeral director. Following his marriage to the late Hannah Ross Clark, he moved to Catlettsburg where with her they owned and operated the Ross Furniture Store. Active in his community, Mr. Clark was a member of Catlettsburg First Presbyterian Church which he served as council member and treasurer for more than 40 years, the Lion's Club, the Rotary Club and the Catlettsburg Boat Club. Mrs. Clark passed away July 12, 2008, after 72 years of marriage. His brother, Vogle Clark, passed away in 2005.

Survivors include his daughter Jane Pantle and her husband C.A. "Ottie" Pantle; his grandchildren, Jane Hunter Julian and her husband Bret, and Chris A. Pantle; and his great-grandchildren, Hunter Anne Julian and Adam Wilson Julian, all of Owensboro.

Services are at 12:00 noon Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday and after 10:00 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the memorial fund of Catlettsburg Presbyterian Church.
