Hugh Douglas Alvey

Doug Alvey 69, of Owensboro went home to be with his heavenly father on April 21st 2015, at his home.
He was born on March 13th 1946 to the late Rev. Elmer and Anna Alvey.

Doug worked for Owensboro Regional Health for 47 years, and was the longest tenured employee of the hospital. He was of the Pentecostal Faith, he enjoyed reading his bible, shopping, spending time with his family, and watching UK basketball.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Elmer and Anna Alvey, sister; Patsy Roach, brother; Rev. William Alvey, two grandchildren; Lorie Stanley and Tyler Alvey.

Surviving are his children: Stephen (Rebecca) Alvey, Adam (LeaAnn) Alvey, Angela Bolton of Owensboro, and Marcella (Chris) Alvey of Tenneyson IN., one sister: Kathy (Gary) Wilson of Calhoun, two brothers: Rev. Tim (Dena) Alvey of Dale, IN. Charles (Ellen) Alvey, of Owensboro, one sister-in-law: Sharon Alvey of Owensboro, 9 grandchildren: Jordan Higgs, Laura (Scotty) Cavender, Amanda Higgs, Tony Alvey, Kaitlyn Alvey, David Bolton, Alicia Alvey, Corey Ward, Troy Stanley and 1 great granddaughter: Zoey Cavender.

Services will be conducted Saturday April 25th, 2015 at 12:00pm (Noon) at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with his nephew Rev. Robert Alvey officiating, visitation will be Friday April 24th, 2015 from 3:00p - 8:00 pm at the funeral home and from 9:00am -12:00pm Saturday. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Western Kentucky Hospice. Condolences may be left for the family at www.glennfuneralhome.com
