Howard Hoover Roberts

Howard Hoover Roberts, 83, of Philpot passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his home. Born in Rutherfordton, NC on September 8, 1928, he was the son of the late Francis and Bessie Rudisill Roberts. He retired from Prairie Farms Dairy after working there for 19 years. Mr. Roberts was a devoted family man of the Baptist faith and loved gardening and woodworking. In addition to Rutherfordton, he also lived in Hialeah, FL before moving to Philpot. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Gladys Mae Tapp Roberts; his daughters, Linda Ann Roberts of Owensboro and Susan (Robert) Mackowiak of Louisville; his son, David Howard Roberts of Louisville; grandchildren, Melanie (Yuri) Escartin, Joshua Berry, Jeremiah (Valarie) Roberts, Suzan (Darcy) Raymond, Serena Roberts, Dylan Mackowiak, Carter Mackowiak, and Molly Mackowiak; five great-grandchildren; and a devoted friend, Tony Roberts.

A celebration of Mr. Robert's life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church.
