Howard D. Griffith, Jr., 70, of 736 Alexandria, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Owensboro, a son of the late Howard Dan and Pearl Sands Griffith, he was a graduate of Daviess County High School, Brescia College, and attended graduate school at the University of Michigan and Texas A& M. A registered petroleum engineer, Mr. Griffith retired from Texas Gas after forty years, his last position being president of TXG Engineering, Inc. He also served as president and chief executive officer of Yukon Pacific Corporation. He was a member of First Baptist Church and an active member of the Mavericks Sunday school class.
His wife of 51 years, Betsy Davis Griffith, a son and daughter-in-law, G. Dan and Beverly Griffith of Owensboro, a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and David Temple of Owensboro, and two granddaughters, Samantha Crist of Brunswick, MD and Betsy Griffith of Owensboro survive him.
Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 3 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
