Homer "Mike" Charlton, 67, of Owensboro passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born in Murray, a son of the late Homer and Katie Adams Charlton, Mike was of the Christian faith and prized the time he spent with his grandchildren. He enjoyed car shows and restoring cars, working Sudoku puzzles and closely following the University of Kentucky Wildcats. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Janie Story and Carmaleta Eldridge and his infant brother, Joseph Charlton.
He is survived by his companion Brenda Barbour; his daughters Stacy Charlton (Reggie) Wilson and Ashley (Septtimous "Chip") Taylor, II; his grandchildren Maggie Taylor and Septtimous "Trey" Taylor, III,Kelsey Luttrell, Benjamin Luttrell, and Jasmine Wilson, and his great-grandchild Danny Kono, all of Owensboro, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Charlton, officiated Rev. David Blair, will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday and after 12:00 noon Sunday. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Daviess County Humane Society and State Police Memorial Fund.
