Holly Michelle Cornelius

Holly Michelle Cornelius, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on May 15, 2025 at the age of 52. She was born on September 8, 1972 in Daviess County. Holly was a loving mother who cherished her daughters deeply; and she held her family close to her heart. She had a deep affection for animals and shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Lady Bird.

Holly’s life was a beautiful testimony of redemption and transformation. Through Friends of Sinners, she found support and encouragement to fight her addiction; and she was given opportunities to mentor other women in the program. Her faith grew stronger each day, nurtured by the love and discipleship she received at her church, Matthews Table. There, she not only found a church family, but also a renewed sense of identity and hope in Christ. God worked powerfully in her life, restoring her spirit and filling her heart

Holly will be remembered for her fierce love for her daughters, her love for God, and her stubborn spirit. She lived her life as a light to others, showing that no one is ever beyond reach of God’s love.

Holly was preceded in death by a son, Dylan Cornelius, on June 7, 1997; and a cousin, Nikki Lawson, on November 10, 2017.

Surviving are two daughters, Jaquelyn Calloway and fiancé Christian Mahoney of Owensboro and Lacey Anderson of Owensboro; her parents, Connie and Roger Cornelius of Owensboro; brother and sister, Paul Cornelius (Jackie) and Sabrina Johnson (Dennis) all of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, May 21, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
