Hilda Jean Toon

Mrs. H. Jean Toon, 68, of 6850 Hwy 231, Utica, died Wednesday, March 02, 2005, at Leisure Years Nursing Home. She was born October 15, 1936, to Major and Helen Tucker Pharris in Hopkins County. She attended Owensboro Christian Church, was a homemaker, had been a realtor and a dietician at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. Jean had worked in retail at Lazarus Department Store, she and her husband had run a concession business for Kurtz Auction Co., and had worked with Tony Clark Realtors. She also enjoyed working with flowers and flower baskets.

Her father, Major O. Pharris preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Tommy Toon; two sons, Roger Toon of Russellville, Jeff Toon of Gadds, NV; two daughters, Debbie Petit and Angie Hardin, both of Lexington; eight grandchildren; mother, Helen Pharris of Madisonville; three brothers, Thomas Omer Pharris and David Pharris, both of Henderson, and Mark Pharris of Madisonville; three sisters, Lista Foster and Katherine Versnick, both of Madisonville, and Linda Fuqua of Louisville.

Funeral services are 10:00 AM Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home, with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Garden. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, and after 8:30 AM Saturday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Daviess County Diabetes Memorial Gifts, P.O.
