Hilary Edward Garrett

Hilary Edward Garrett, 92, of 3917 E. 4th. St., Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Bon Harbor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late John H. & Mary Ann Rodman Garrett. He was retired as a letter carrier after 35 years with the United States Postal Service.and was a United States Army Air Corp. veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and had served as a minister of communion for many years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #817, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #696, and of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed playing cards and dancing. He was also preceded in death by his four brothers and sisters, Hubert Garrett, Amon Garrett, Margaret Mary OBryan, and Helen Ouellette.

Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Aline A. Fischer Garrett, a daughter and her husband, Linda M. and Steve Dixon of Owensboro, a son and his wife, Patrick J. and Debbie Garrett of Arlington Heights, Ill. And four grandchildren, Casey and Christy Dixon of Owensboro and Ryan and Ashley Garrett of Arlington Heights.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 9, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday with prayers at 7:00 P.M. at Glenn Funeral Home.
