Herschel Lee Fulkerson

Herschel Lee Fulkerson, 74, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess County, on October 14, 1935, the son of the late Estel Fulkerson and Clara Evelyn Clark Fulkerson. He was employed at Green River Steel and later at Burns Middle School

He married the love of his life! He enjoyed flowers and had an exceedingly effective green thumb. He was an active deacon at Hall Street Baptist Church and considered his church family a very important part of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters; Peggy Sue Fulkerson, Barbara Ann Fulkerson and Mary Alice Fulkerson and by his brother, James Estel Fulkerson.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Freida Stinnett Fulkerson; a son, Scott Fulkerson of Philpot; a daughter, Dana Goodlett and her husband Bill of Owensboro; grandchildren, Kristy Clark, Brianne Fulkerson, Michael Goodlett, Madison McCarty and Jenna Goodlett; brothers, Gary Fulkerson and his wife Kay of Jacksonville, IL, John Fulkerson and his wife Jaeane of Moline, IL, and Charlie Fulkerson of Hartford; sisters, Wilda Redmon of Sydney, OH and Dorothy Thrasher and her husband Lenny of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Noon on Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
