Herman Joseph Schell

Herman Joseph Schell, 72, of 3033 Redford Drive, Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2004, at the Western Ky, Veterans Center in Hanson, Ky. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church, the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Booster Club at Owensboro Catholic High School, and longtime member of the church cooking team. He enjoyed gardening, raising sunflowers, and Nascar racing. He was preceded in death by a sister, Agnes Thomas on June 17, 2004 and a step grandson, Calvin Whaley in 2001.

Surviving is his wife of 35 years, Dorothy Galloway Newton Schell, a daughter and her husband, Donna & Jon Blossom of Clarksville, Tn., two step daughters and their husbands, Wilhelmenia Newton & Tony Hamilton of Philpot, and Phylis & Eddie Ragland of Phoenix, Az., a stepson, James David Newton of Louisville, Ky., a sister, Mildred Phillips of Flaherty, Ky., and three brothers, Bob Schell of Owensboro, Gene Schell of Panther, and Jim Schell of Maceo, six step grandchildren, and 2 step great grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 13, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home where prayers will be at P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Daviess Co. Special Olympics, P. O. Box 764, Owensboro, Ky. 42302.
