Henry E. "Ed" Phillips, 88, of 258 Riverside Dr., Owensboro, passed away on Monday February 9, 2009 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on February 14, 1920 in Daviess Co. to the late Robert L. and Anna Alvey Phillips. He was a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church and was retired from the Sheetmetal Workers Union Local #20. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #696. He enjoyed fishing, Nascar, and raising vegetables. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lennie Mae Phillips on Dec. 6, 2005.
Surviving are three sons, Eddie Phillips of Owensboro, Bobby Phillips of Henderson, and Tony Phillips and wife Sharon of Crawfordsville, Iowa, an ex-daughter-in-law, Janet Phillips of Owensboro, four grandchildren, Rob Phillips and wife Samantha, Sara Phillips and friend Clayton Schimp, Steve Phillips and wife Lori, and Mike Phillips, four great grandchildren, Kaden Taylor Phillips, Haylee Elaine Phillips, Claire Elizabeth Phillips, and Ava Mae Schimp, two step grandchildren, Bradley Lorack and Lisa Lorack, three step great grandchildren, Jeffery Clark, Chloe Lorack, and Cody Lorack, and a sister, Mary Evelyn Posey and husband Wes of Boonville, IN.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 12, at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 8:30 A.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday.
