Henry M. Moody

Mr. Henry M. Moody, 88, of 815 Eastwood Drive, Owensboro, died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at his residence. He was born April 14, 1915, to Henry Clay and Gertrude Proctor Moody in Allen County. He was an Army veteran of WWII, a member of First General Baptist Church, where he was a deacon emeritus, and had taught Sunday School for many years. He was a member of The Gideons International, a Kentucky Colonel, enjoyed seven years being a Wal-Mart greeter, and he enjoyed reading and gardening. He was an insurance agent in Owensboro for many years.

His first wife, Dorothy Moody, who died in 1967, and his sister, Mary Alice Kirby, who died in 1999, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Evelyn Moody; one daughter and her husband, Saundra (Keith) Gore of Oakland City, IN; one son and his wife, Sidney (Betsy) Moody of Louisville; one step-daughter and her husband, Pat (Ron) Pitchford of Paducah; one step-son and his wife, Don (Peggy) Aldridge of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Jeff and Shelly Gore, Clay, Mary Ellen and John Moody; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at First General Baptist Church, with burial in Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Allen County, KY. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, and after 9:00 AM Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Services will also be conducted at Mt. Union General Baptist Church at 2:30 PM Wednesday.
