Henry A. Lanham

Henry A. "Shorty" Lanham Sr., 77, of Owensboro, passed away September 6, 2014. Henry was born in Owensboro on March 22, 1937 to the late Henry and Francis Trogden Lanham. Shorty was a Chief Engineer and retired Port Engineer. Henry enjoyed NASCAR, wrestling, and his favorite NASCAR drivers Earnhardt Jr. and Sr.

Henry is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Jo Blair Lanham; daughter, Christy Lou Lanham Smith; step daughter, Cindy Simmons Smith; stepson, Joe Simmons; and a brother, Kenneth Lanham; and sisters, Mary Boehman, Loretta Russelburg, Hazel Smith, Francis Simmons, and Shirley Keller.

Survivors include his sons, Scotty Lanham (Starla) and Henry A. Lanham Jr. (Sherry); daughter, Dorothy Lanham Head (Bruce); sister, Lucy (Omer) Harpe; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Services will be at 10am Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8PM on Tuesday and after 9am Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
