Henry G. Estes

Henry G. Estes, 80, of 2147 Griffith Ave., Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at his home. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late James Hubert and Helena Bowlds Estes. He was retired from Sheetmetal Workers Local #20 in Evansville, where he was a master sheetmetal worker and worked at Old Homestead Service Co for 27 years. He was a self-educated engineer and had drawn up many commercial heating and air conditioning system plans. Before moving to Owensboro, he lived in Miami, Florida for about 15 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and raising a garden. He was a U. S. Navy veteran. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Louise Estes, and two brothers, Hubert Louis and Allen Ray Estes.

Surviving is his wife, best friend, and soulmate, etc., for 32 years, Martha H. Estes, two sons, Gary Wayne Estes of Miami, and Robert J. Gray of Owensboro, six daughters, Gabriella G. Taylor of Nashville, Tenn., Shannon Lancaster and husband Frank Hayes, Jonnie K. Martin and husband David, Cheri Moss and husband Bill, and Jennifer C. Gray, all of Owensboro, and Angel Rock Warren and husband Sam of Murfreesboro, Tenn., a special buddy and best friend (Grandson), Levi Michael Gray, 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, a brother, Arkie Estes and wife Shelia of Maceo, six sisters, Barbara Brown and husband Vincent and Ginny Ray and husband Ronnie , all of Maceo, Mary Ruth Francullo and husband Nick of Lynn, Mass., Dean King of Tell City, Judy Powers of Hawesville, and Mackie Stroud and husband Joe of Owensboro, and his Siamese cat, Moonshine.

Services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, January 23, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
