Helen Julia Truman

Helen Julia (Judy) Truman, 86, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord Sunday June 14, 2015. She was born in Webster Co. April 15, 1929 to the late Robert E. and Lorene White Winstead. Julia retired from Daviess District Court and was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught primary Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She was also a member of the Martha Grace Sunday School class. Julia was a member and former treasurer of the General Evan Shelby Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a charter member of the Fireside Homemakers. She was a loving wife and caring mother who loved to cook for her family, sew, knit, quilt, garden, and play bridge.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years; Art Truman Jr.; sons, Chip (Lucy) Truman of Lebanon, TN and Dan (Shawna) Truman of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Katy Truman of Frankfort, Erin Truman of Lebanon, Sarah and Daniel Truman of Owensboro; sister, Bobbie Freeman of Owensboro; sister-in-law, Nancie T. Ham of Richmond, KY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be 2 PM Thursday, June 18 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Dr. Paul Strahan will officiate. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 PM and on Thursday after 1 PM at the funeral home.
