Helen L. Tanner, 80, of Owensboro, died Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System. The Daviess Co. native was born March 16, 1926 to the late Jesse and Mary Miller McCandless Litsey. Mrs. Tanner was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were her husband; Fred Tanner, Jr. and her sister; Lucille Litsey.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law; Terry and Kora Tanner of Philpot, and Michael and Sarah Tanner of Laramie, Wyoming, her daughter and son-in-law; Freda and Gary Igleheart of Owensboro, her grandchildren and their spouses; David and Monique Tanner of Philpot, Jeffery and Laura Tanner of Versailles, Kentucky, Brian Tanner of Philpot, Laura Igleheart of Owensboro, and Christy Igleheart of Owensboro, and her great-grandchildren; Tyler, Alexzandrea, Emiley, Abigayle, Ian, Parker, and Cole.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at Glenn Funeral Home with Rev. David Hocker officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 8:30 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church.
