Helen Whitaker Purcell

Helen Whitaker Purcell, 87, of Philpot, died Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at the Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The Livermore native was a homemaker; had worked at Sears in the catalog sales department for several years; and was a member of the Providence United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Louis F. Purcell; two sons Bill Carpenter of Philpot and Roger Cowboy Carpenter of Calhoun; three daughters, Dorothy Woolen of Rockport, IN, Barbara Parsley of Lewisport, and Kaye Wink of Philpot; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a step-son, Marvin Purcell of Philpot; two step-daughters, Nina Wyatt of Owensboro and Marion Kirkpatrick of Ben Wheeler, TX; four step-grandchildren; three step-great-great grandchildren; a sister, Golda Damin of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 11 A.M. Saturday, November 29, 2003 at Providence United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home and after 10 A.M. Saturday at the church.
