Helen Jean Phipps, 54, of Owensboro died Friday, June 18, 2004 at her home. Born May 9, 1950, Mrs. Phipps was a native of Pine Bluff, AR. She was a machine operator and had worked at DBM and was of the Baptist faith. She loved playing Bingo and cards and going to the casino, but especially she enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking. She was preceded in death by a son, Ray Barnes.
She is survived by her husband , James Oliver Phipps; a daughter, Shanda Boyd of Owensboro; three step-daughters, Jameicai Gibson of Cincinnati, and Shannon Johnson and Jasamie Phipps both of Lexington; a step-son, James Phipps of Lexington; and a brother, Jessie Lewis of Owensboro; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services are 12 noon Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. on Monday and after 9 A.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
