Helen M. Parker

Helen M. Parker, 83, of Sunrise Drive, Owensboro, died Wednesday, April 09, 2008, at her home. She was born May 31, 1924 to the late Oscar and Neely McDaniel McDougal in Piedmont, AL. She retired from Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a Past Matron and member of the Goel #104 Order of the Eastern Star. She loved doing all kinds of crafts, especially making Christmas decorations and crocheting for others.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, B. H. Parker; a son, Garland Parker of Owensboro; a daughter, Carolyn Dunbar and her husband, Dan of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Chris Parker and his wife, Jennifer, Kevin Parker and his wife, Kellie; one great-grandson, Kaleb Parker; one sister, Flossie Parris of Jacksonville, AL; one brother, Phil McDougal of Arab, AL; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:00 AM Monday at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1:00 until 6:00 PM Sunday, with Eastern Star Services at 5:00 PM. Visitation will continue after 8:30 AM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301.
