Helen Jean Ellis Hawes

Helen J. Hawes of 3304 Hummingbird Loop S., passed away on Monday, December 29, 2008 at her home.. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. on May 31, 1926 to the late Luther "Blue Jay" and Mary Lou Sells Ellis. She was married to the late William "Bill" Hawes of Yelvington. She worked many years at General Electric and Ky. Electronics. She was of the Baptist faith. She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Louise Miles, Parvin "Bud" Ellis, and Robert "Bob" Ellis and two nieces, Robin and Peggy.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Autumn Cooney, son-in-law Bill Cooney, her one and only grandchild, Christopher Cooney, her sister, Wilma and husband Roy H. Farmer, 11 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

There will be a wake at Mrs. Hawes home from 1:00-7:00 P.M. Monday. January 5. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 723 Harvard Dr., Owensboro, Ky. 42301.
