Helen Hite Frey

Helen Hite Frey, 94, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Owensboro Center. She was born April 20, 1919 in Daviess Co., KY to the late John William and Fannie Posie Simpson Hite. She was retired from the Dietary Department at Owensboro Medical Health System. Helen was a past member of Bellevue Baptist Church and was currently a member at Walnut Memorial Baptist Church. She had been a Sunday School teacher ever since she was a teenager. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to whom she dedicated her life. Helen enjoyed meeting people and making new friends.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Frey in 1975, and two sisters, Leora Dawson and Hattie Mae Sloan.

Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Bruner and husband Bob of Owensboro, Belinda Hicks and husband Charles of Livermore, Bonnie Roberts and husband Steve of Owensboro, and Benita Crowson of Louisville, eight grandchildren, Byron Woodard, Amy Beehn, Alison Scifres, Ashley Webb, Melissa Jones, Brooke Obermann, Zach Roberts, and Bethany Masterson, 19 great grandchildren, and one nephew and two nieces.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 8, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 8:30 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
