Mrs. Helen Carlin, 93, of 7126 KY Hwy 81, Friendly Village, formerly of West Louisville, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born March 29, 1911, to the late William and Pearl Wheeler Hoskins, in Hancock County. She was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church, a beautician for over 60 years, owning several beauty shops, including Vanity Beauty Shop.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Michael (Beth) Carlin of Evansville, IN; one daughter and her husband, Jane (William) Shelton of Friendly Village; eight grandchildren, Carrie and Cassie Carlin, William (Ann) Shelton, Wayne (Karen) Shelton, James (Shelly) Shelton, Janet (Robert) Phillips, Lea Ann Wilson, and Michael (Samatha) Shelton; twenty-one great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Vivian Dusenbury of Wilmington, NC, and two nephews.
Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 8, 2004, at St. Martins Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Mills presiding. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at Glenn Funeral Home, with prayers being said at 7:00 PM, visitation will be after 9:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
