Helen Faye Brown, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on Nov. 30, 1933 in Cragford, AL. She was a homemaker and a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, going shopping, sewing, crocheting, eating out, and meeting new friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. "Bob" Brown on February 23, 1999, her parents, John Barrett and Edith Bowen Carter, and a sister, Elizabeth Burkett in 2008.

She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Harley and husband Delmon of Owensboro and Theresa Brown of Southeast Asia, a son, William R. "Butch" Brown and wife Shirley of Owensboro, eight grandchildren, Emily Reid of Alabaster, AL, Christi Brown of Russellville, Ky., Sgt. Gene Brown of Ft. Sill, OK, Tiffany Brown of Kingman, AZ, Ashley Estes of Fordsville, Sara Burns, Jonathan Brown, and Bethany Brown, all of Owensboro, seven great grandchildren, four brothers, John W. Carter of Anniston, AL, James Carter of Lineville, AL, Jack Carter of Rome, GA, and Joe Michael Carter of Washington State, and three sisters, Charlotte Yates of Wedowee, AL, Linda Oswald of Atlanta, and Gail McCravy of Virginia.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 14, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, c/o Yellow Creek Baptist Church, 5741 Highway 144, Owensboro, Ky. 42303.
