Helen G. Beckley

Helen Green Beckley, 90 of Louisville, formerly of Owensboro, died Friday, September 17, 2004 at the Four Courts Senior Center in Louisville. Born in Henderson County, KY, a daughter of the late Preston C. and Nina Oldham Green, Mrs. Beckley was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, and had been an active volunteer and leader of the Girl Scouts, a member of the board of directors of the Mary Kendall Home, and helped open the Bakers Rack in 1974, with whom she was associated until 1987. Her husband, Elmer C. Beckley preceded her in death, in 1994, as well as her brother, Preston Green, Jr. and her sister, Alice Green.

Her daughter, Janet Beckley Fleck of Louisville, her grandchildren, Juliet Singleton Robertson, James W. Robertson, Jr. and his wife Colleen Ford, and Jane Christian Robertson Aquino and her husband Michael, all of Louisville, her great-grandchildren, Maeve Beckley Robertson, Aidan Gerald Robertson, Abigail Victoria Aquino and Rachel Christian Aquino, her nephew, Charles Green of Vero Beach, Fl and her niece, Rebecca Green Locknane of Lexington, KY survive her.

Services are 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. until Monday and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
