Hazel Mae Stephens

Hazel M. Stephens, 93, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born April 28, 1921 in Hancock Co., KY to the late Alford and Myrtle Basham Mason. Hazel was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was retired from the Westinghouse Corp. after 46 years of service. She loved cooking, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was also preceded in death by four sons, Alan Lewis Poole, James E. Poole, Kenneth Poole, and Jerry Lee Poole, and a daughter, Sharon Ann Stephens.

Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Claude Howard Stephens, a son, William Howard Stephens and wife Janice of Utica, nine grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Services will be 12 Noon Tuesday, October 14 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Brother Thomas Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Monday and after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
