Hazel Marie Snyder

Hazel Marie Hendershott Snyder, 101, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Cannelton, IN on August 12, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Frances Turner Hendershott; worked as a nurse's aide; and was a member of the Calvary Wesleyan Church. Mrs. Snyder enjoyed quilting, reading, and writing letters and sending cards to family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend James Homer Snyder in 1976; her 10 brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Glenn Snyder in 2012.

Surviving are children, James (Bonnie) Snyder and Dorothy Harper of Owensboro, and Regina Starks of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Kenny (Karen) Wood of Panama City, FL, Kay (Mike) Burgess of Augusta, GA, Lana Harper of Lancaster, CA, Sherree (David) Wall of Owensboro, John (Jodi) Harper of Chandler, IN, Sherman Snyder of Maceo and Susan McCarthy of Owensboro; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren


Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ron Meade officiating followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m. on Saturday.
