Hazel Cleo Henton, 87, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at Owensboro Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 12, 1921, to the late Aretice and Edna Hatfield King in McLean County. She had worked as a nurse's aid at Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital and Mercy Hospital for several years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and enjoyed working in her flower garden, and being around children, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Henton in 1995, two sons, Calvin Earl Henton, and Guy Harreld Henton, and a brother and three sisters.
Survivors include her sons, Maurice F. Henton, and his wife, Louise of Philpot, and Menvil L. Henton of MS; two grandchildren, Jeff F. Henton, and his wife, Lisa, and Steven A. Henton, and his wife, Lori; four great-grandsons, Dustin F. Henton, Ethan A. Henton, Seth A. Henton, and Trace A. Henton.
Services will be 12:00 PM Friday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with burial in Pleasant Hope Cemetery in McLean County. Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday and after 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
