Hayden Edward Head

Hayden Head, 88, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Mr. Head was born in West Louisville, KY and graduated from West Louisville High School where he played basketball and was a letterman. He retired as a bookkeeper from Bryant Distributing Company. Mr. Head was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, James Wathen Head and Pauline Hayden Head, brothers, J.W. Head and Eugene Head, and sisters Marietta Barron Morrison and Virginia Head

Mr. Head is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary "Bobbie" Head; his children, Donnie Head (Janet) of Owensboro, Michael Head (Debbie) of Bowling Green, Marnita Strehl (Pat) of Louisville, and Julie Castlen (Sherill) of Yelvington; his grandchildren, D.J. Head, Jason Head, Scott Head, Angela Head, Nicole Stoll (Mike), Rachel Metzger (Jay), Matthew Strehl, Breanna Dant (Brent), and Brandon Castlen; 7 great grandchildren; his brother, Robert L. Head of West Louisville, and his sister, Ella B. West of Calhoun.

The funeral Mass for Mr. Head will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where prayers will be said at 6:00 p.m. Friday. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Western Kentucky or Owensboro Davita Dialysis.
