Harry C. Holder

Harry C. Sonny Holder, III, 70, of 1560 Roosevelt Road, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Holder was born in Calhoun, KY, the son of the late Harry C., Jr. and Ruth R. Holder.

Mr. Holder had been an owner of the former Harry Holder Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury dealership in Owensboro. He was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Owensboro High School, attended the Kentucky Military Institute and graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College. He retired as a major with the United State Army Reserve 100th Training Division. Mr. Holder was a member of the Campbell Club, the American Legion, and enjoyed flying, boating and sports.

Mr. Holder is survived by two sons, David Holder of Newburgh, IN and Steve Holder of Owensboro; two daughters, Stephanie Holder Orton of Franklin, TN and Holly Holder Rouse of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Christopher Orton of Franklin, TN, Andrew Rouse of Owensboro, and Alex Holder of Newburgh, IN; his sister, Ann Holder Moseley of Owensboro, and his uncle, Scott Holder of Owensboro.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 until 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Memorial Fund of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church or the Daniel Pitino Shelter.
