Harry G. Berkshire, 87, of Maceo, KY, died Monday, April 23, 2007 at his home. He was born June 29, 1919 to the late Harry and Louise Green Berkshire in Breckinridge County. He was a member of Owensboro Christian Church, an Army Air Force Veteran of WW II, and retired from Plumber and Pipefitters Local 633. He was a noted naturalist and taxidermist, who had the featured item of the grand opening of the Owensboro Area Museum of Science and History.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Rosalie Thornberry Berkshire, married on October 22, 1948; his daughters, Bonita Echstenkamper and her husband, Bill of Sarasota, FL, Janice Hurst and her husband, Carl of Madisonville, Barbara Berkshire of Owensboro and Annette Berkshire of Maceo; two grandchildren, Andrea Echstenkamper of New York, NY and Lauren Echstenkamper of Richmond, VA.
Services will be 11:30 AM Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home conducted by Myke Templeton, with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be given by VFW Post 696 at the cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday and after 10:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
