Harlan Pate, 95, of Owensboro died Monday, November 8, 2004 at the Carmel Home. Born July 13, 1909, Mr. Pate was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and was retired from Beloit College in Wisconsin where he worked in the Maintenance Department for many years. Mr. Pate was an avid University of Kentucky and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louella Hopper Pate, a brother, J.W. Pate, and a sister, Eliza Lee Smith.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and John Fossum of Annapolis, MD; two grandchildren, Randall and Carmelnita Fossum of Woodbine, MD and Joni and Michael Remar of Hollis, NH; three great-grandchildren; Brandon Fossum, Jordan Remar and Alex Remar; two sisters, Rose Nation and Ruth Stephens both of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 11 A.M. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home from 3-8 P.M. on Wednesday and after 9 A.M. on Thursday morning.
