H. Lee Kincaid

June 17, 1952 — December 5, 2018

H. Lee Kincaid, Jr., 66, of Owensboro, passed away on December 5, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with his family and close friends at his side, following a long illness with pulmonary fibrosis.
Born in Owensboro on June 17, 1952 to the late Hilton Lee Kincaid, Sr. and Margaret Thomas Kincaid, Lee graduated from Daviess County High School in 1970 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1984. Lee was a brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Lee worked for Green River Steel for 13 years during which he attended college to earn his degree. Upon graduation, he began a 33-year career at Brenntag Mid-South, retiring from his position as the Safety, Regulatory, and Quality Manager earlier this year.
A long-time member of Third Baptist Church, Lee filled many leadership positions there including teaching a 3rd grade Sunday School for 32 years, serving as a deacon since 1999, and currently as the Chairman of the Deacons.
He served in leadership positions both professionally and in the community including with the Ohio Valley Management Club and the Henderson Local Emergency Planning Committee.
Lee was a fun-loving man who enjoyed golf, especially weekly outings with his friends and former professors from Kentucky Wesleyan and once-in-a lifetime trips to Pebble Beach, Spanish Bay, TPC Sawgrass and the St. Andrews Old Course with his golf buddy Phillip Blair.
Lee loved live music. He attended many concerts with Bettie and his long-time friends including James Byrd, Bruce Kunze, and Danny Fulkerson.
Lee and Bettie were blessed to travel to 44 states and several foreign countries. They were able to enjoy many trips with friends and family.
Lee was the cornerstone of our family and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Bettie Hight Kincaid of Owensboro, and his children Shane Armstrong (Jason Harris) of Beaver Dam and Mason Armstrong (Melissa) of Cedar Hill, Tennessee. His grandsons Benjamin Bowen of Long Beach, California and Wyatt Harris of Beaver Dam survive him as do his little sister Cindy Wells (Jeff) and his nephews Jordan Wells and Jesse Wells, all of Owensboro and many close cousins.
The funeral service for H. Lee Kincaid, Jr. will be at 2:00 pm Saturday at Third Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 pm Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and from 12:00 until 2:00 pm Saturday at the church.
