Guthrie A. Snead

Guthrie A. "Sonny" Snead, Jr., 69, of Utica, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on May 27, 1943 in Daviess Co., KY to the late Guthrie A. and Mabel Hamilton Snead, Sr. He was a member of Brushy Fork Baptist Church and had retired from the Chrysler Corporation. Sonny was a member and officer with the Central City Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie and the Yellow Banks F.O.E. Aerie. He was a Ky Colonel, a Commonwealth of Ky. past worthy state president for the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was a member of Sons of AmVets where he was a past secretary. Sonny enjoyed fishing and reading Louie L'Amour novels. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Snead.

Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Brenda Ann Snead, two sons, Nathan Snead and Jesse Snead, both of Illinois, two daughters, Tania Spears of Illinois and Roxanna Redden and husband Nathan of Louisville, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters, Judith Anderson and husband Donald of Philpot and Paula Payne of Browns Valley, and a brother, Robert L. "Bobby" Snead of Owensboro.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 18 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Elba. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P. M. Thursday and after 12 Noon Friday at the funeral home with Fraternal Order of Eagles services at 7:00 P.M. Thursday.
