Guelda Sue Roberts

Guelda Sue Roberts, 78, of 2025 Wimbledon Court, Owensboro, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Buena Vista, TN. to the late Clifford & Gladys Thompson. She was a homemaker and had also worked at General Electric and the Yarden Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Beacon Sunday School Class, and was in charge of the flower ministry at the church where she delivered flower arrangements to the local nursing homes and to shutins. She had been a volunteer at the Riverpark Center since its opening, loved flower gardening. Sue was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and had a true love of people and the Lord. She was very caring and compassionate. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Francis Balaban in 2000 and Rachel Thompson in 1934.

Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Lee E. Roberts, Jr., a daughter and her husband, Martha Sue & Ernie Forsythe of Donelson, Tn., two sons and their wives, Jerry Lee & Lynsley Roberts of Franklin, Tn., and James Ralph & Nancy Roberts of Evansville, In., seven grandchildren, Ashley Roberts, Brittany Roberts, and Matthew Roberts, all of Franklin, and Will Roberts, Tom Roberts, Annie Roberts, and Elizabeth Roberts, all of Evansville, two nieces, JoAnn Martin of Edgewater, Md., and Marie Keeney of Sarasota, Fl., and two nephews, Gary Balaban of Phoenix, Md., and Douglas Roberts of Pompano Beach, Fl.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 11, at First Baptist Church with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church.
