Grace Norris Haynes

Grace Norris Haynes, 94, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014. She was born on May 13, 1920 in Daviess Co. to the late Walter Obed Phillips and Ella Francis Phillips. She was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church. She worked for General Electric from October 1, 1947 until January 1, 1981. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Charles Earl Norris, her second husband, Roy Haynes, four brothers, William Obed "Buck" Phillips, Elwin Lee "Buster" Phillips, James Andrew "Red" Phillips, and Fred Wilson Phillips, a stepson, Ronald Haynes of Bettendorf, IA, and a stepdaughter, Judy Bybee of Frankfort.

She is survived by her son, James Earl (Kay Cox) Norris of McDaniels, grandsons, Anthony Brent (Sue Ann) Norris of Bowling Green, Gregory Wayne Norris and John Lincoln Norris, both of Richmond, a granddaughter, Cassie Leigh Norris of Lexington, great grandsons, Zachary James Norris and Charles Ramsey Norris, both of Bowling Green, a sister, Etha Mae Phillips Troutman of Pacolet, S. C., a stepson, David (Faye) Haynes of Paducah, stepdaughters, Rebecca (John) Neal, Patty (Rodney) May, and Donna (Roger) Ray, all of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 12 Noon Saturday, August 23, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Commital services and burial will be held at Owensboro Memorial Gardens Christ Chapel. Visitation will be after 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
